Steam Next Fest 2025: My Top 3 Demo Picks

Steam Next Fest is back, bringing a week-long celebration of upcoming games with hundreds of free demos, developer livestreams, and community engagement. It's the perfect opportunity to get hands-on with exciting new titles before their official release. After diving into the demos, I’ve picked my top three favorites that stood out: Vindictus: Defying Fate, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, and Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE. Let’s break them down!

Vindictus: Defying Fate – A Soulslike Evolution

Developed by Nexon, Vindictus: Defying Fate reimagines the classic MMO as a single-player action RPG with Soulslike combat. The demo showcases intense battles, Celtic mythology-inspired enemies, and a gripping narrative. While the graphics and world-building are widely praised, some players found the combat a bit clunky. Still, with over 40,000 players trying the demo, it’s clear that Vindictus: Defying Fate is one of the most talked-about titles of Steam Next Fest.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound – A Return to 2D Glory

The legendary Ninja Gaiden franchise makes a spectacular comeback with Ragebound, a side-scrolling action platformer developed by The Game Kitchen and published by Dotemu. The demo features fast-paced combat, multiple playable characters, and a hard mode for those seeking a challenge. With pixel-perfect visuals and precise gameplay, Ragebound successfully blends nostalgia with modern mechanics, making it a must-play for fans of classic action games.

Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE
– Webtoon Meets Action RPG

Based on the popular webtoon, Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE transforms the story into a high-energy action RPG developed by Netmarble. The demo lets players experience Sung Jinwoo’s journey, featuring dynamic combat, job advancements, and 4-player co-op raids. With gorgeous animations and immersive storytelling, this game is shaping up to be a standout title for fans of the series and action RPG enthusiasts alike.

Final Thoughts

Steam Next Fest continues to be an incredible platform for discovering upcoming games and engaging with developers. Whether you're into Soulslike combat, retro-inspired action, or anime-style RPGs, this event has something for everyone. Huge credit to Steam for hosting this festival and to the talented developers behind these amazing demos. If you haven’t checked them out yet, now’s the time!

How to Unlock the Infinite Rocket Launcher in Resident Evil 2 (1998)

There’s something poetic about turning the tables on zombies with a rocket launcher that never runs out of ammo . In the original Resident Evil 2 for PlayStation, this isn’t just a cheat—it’s a reward for mastering the game’s pacing and precision. 🎮 What You Need to Do To unlock the infinite rocket launcher , here’s your challenge: ✅ Complete Scenario A — either as Leon or Claire ⏱️ Finish the playthrough in under 2 hours and 30 minutes 🏆 Achieve a Rank A or B (saving is allowed but should be minimal) Once you meet these criteria, you’ll find the rocket launcher tucked neatly into the first item box of your next game. And yes, it melts bosses . Just keep in mind: using it in future playthroughs will lower your rank, so if you’re aiming for bragging rights, maybe leave it in the box next time around. 🎥 Need a Walkthrough? 🧠 Brain Waves & Boss Fights: How EEG Is Reshaping the Future of Gaming

There’s something mythic about the idea of controlling a game with your mind. No controller. No keyboard. Just pure thought. Thanks to advances in neuroscience and EEG (electroencephalography) tech, that dream is no longer science fiction—it’s becoming reality. ⚡ What Are Brain Waves? Our brains are electric symphonies. Every thought, emotion, and movement is accompanied by electrical activity, measured in brain wave patterns . These waves— delta, theta, alpha, beta, and gamma —each correspond to different mental states: Delta (0.5–4 Hz) : Deep sleep and unconsciousness Theta (4–8 Hz) : Creativity, intuition, and meditation Alpha (8–12 Hz) : Calm focus and relaxed alertness Beta (12–30 Hz) : Active thinking and problem-solving Gamma (30–100 Hz) : High-level cognition, memory, and insight For creators like me who ritualize overlays and emotional cadence, gamma waves are especially resonant—symbolizing synthesis, memory, and mythic clarity. 🎮 Brain Waves in Gaming: From Bi...
